This week's playlist includes jazz by a variety of artists profiled in articles in our databases. These artists showcase the genre-blending of much modern jazz: pop-y tunes by Olivia Dean and Norah Jones, bluesy rumblings of Ambrose Akinmusire, a work by Robert Glasper based on the words of the rapper Mos Def, Betty Lavette's cover of Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe," blurry, almost ambient music by Antonio Sanchez & Migrations, and Anat Cohen's combination of original compositions and arrangements of klezmer music.
In previous challenges, we've used the Library's access to Billboard magazine. In addition to scholarly publications, UWM Libraries provide access to many magazines meant for music collectors and listeners. These magazines provide a great way to keeping up with new releases.
