UWM LibGuides Editor Training Units

Purpose:

This training is designed to prepare you to edit and support the development of UWM Libraries LibGuides. While the skills in this training are immediately relevant to UWM Libraries projects and initiatives, competencies in web design and accessibility have numerous applications in our increasingly digital society.

Instructions:

The staff training module consists of three units. Each unit contains readings and videos that explain key elements of the LibGuides content management system as well as our local UWM design standards.

At the end of each unit you will find a brief activity. Please complete the activity and compose your response in a word document and share it via email to Heidi Anoszko (hanoszko@uwm.edu).

Once you receive feedback, you can move on to the next unit. Staff should complete the training modules before editing or publishing LibGuides. Once the training units are completed, interns may collaborate with librarians on guide development and editing. New UWM Libraries staff and staff new to LibGuides are also asked to complete this training before publishing their own LibGuides.
