Welcome Desk Service Page

Welcome Desk philosophy of service:

Everyone who enters the Learning Commons and Library goes to a variety of destinations, but they will always pass by the Welcome Desk. At the Welcome Desk, we are not only just available for questions, but we are making connections with people coming into the library. The key to great customer service is Empathy.

  •  Look Up: Acknowledge patrons with eye contact, a smile and positive body language.  Be approachable.

  • Get Them There: Get the patron to the service, person, item, or information that they need.

  • Know Our Services: If you don’t know about our services, you can’t help our patrons know about our services.

  • Be Helpful: Your help impacts student success.

  • Be Welcoming:You impact the environment of the library.  Emotions are contagious, so spread good will and enthusiasm with patrons and colleagues.
