Request Materials from other UW Schools

UWM students, staff, and faculty have access to books and media held across the UW System. Search the library catalog, Search@UW, to find and request items from other UW campus libraries for free. 

Use the tool WorldCat to find and request materials through UWM's Interlibrary Loan service (ILLiad)

Use the tool WorldCat to search for books outside the UW System and request them for free through Interlibrary loan.

  1. Start by signing in to your library account (see video instructions at the bottom of this page)
  2. Access WorldCat using the link in the "Search and Find" dropdown menu on the UWM Libraries homepage. 
  3. Enter a title, search terms, or author name into the search bar to find books in WorldCat. Click on the title of the item you want to request.
  4. Click on the blue “View Access Options" button in the upper right of the screen

  5. Then select the "Request It (Illiad)" link from the pop-out panel to generate a pre-filled Interlibrary Loan request form. Review the citation details in the form for accuracy, and then click “Submit Request”

InterLibrary Loan Service (ILLiad)

Use the Interlibrary Loan form to request articles, chapters, books and other media that the UWM Libraries does not own. You will also see this form when you click "Request Item" in the library databases. Interlibrary loan requests are free.
