How to Make a Request

Borrowing through ILLiad. 1 ILLiad Request. 2 Get MaterialsStudents and faculty can request everything they need through ILLiad.

  • Find the items you need in Search@UW, WorldCat, or a UWM database.
  • Click the "Find It" or "Request It" button. This will take you to the "ILLiad Logon Screen"
  • Enter your ePanther ID and password at the link
  • A request screen will be generated that is already filled in with information from your citation.
  • Click on "Submit Request."

Make Requests

Request through Search@UW

  • Search for the item you want. Click the Get It tab.
  • Log in using the Sign-in for more options button.
  • Then click "Request A Copy" to access the ILLiad form.​

Request through WorldCat

  • Locate the title you need and click Request Item to access the ILLiad form.

Request from a UWM Database

  • Use any UWM database to search your topic.
  • If we don't have access to the article you want, click on  "Find It!" to access the ILLiad form.

Already know the title of the book or the exact citation of the article?

  • Manually enter this information into the appropriate ILLiad request form.
  • Fill out all the required fields, this will speed up the process. Any extra information that you have can go in the notes field.

In general, interlibrary loan requests take between 2-3 days for articles and 10-14 days to fill books. Some requests may take longer.

Receiving Items Through ILLiad

Returnables: Books, CDs, DVDs, etc.

  • Qualified students can have ILLiad requests sent directly to their homes.

Non-Returnables: Articles, Book chapters, etc.

  • All students and faculty can view electronic copies of the items they requested online through ILLiad.
