The easiest way to find music for a certain instrument is to search for the instrument in the "subject" field. Depending on the type of music, violin or fiddle might be used. Adding "juvenile" limits the search to music for young players.
To find recordings, search for a work or artist in Search@UW, and then limit to "Audio" using the filter options on the left.
There were some questions during the tour about locating music by Black composers or composers from other groups. The library doesn't typically label music by the composer's identity, unless the composer or editor includes that information in the title, but some outside organizations put together lists or databases that include information about composer identity.
When you search for books in the library, you can use "juvenile" as a search term to locate children's books. For books about learning and teaching an instrument, use "instruction and study."
