Tips and Resources for UWM String Academy students and families

Welcome for Families

Welcome UWM String Academy Students and Parents!

The Golda Meir Library at UWM includes tens of thousands of books about music, scores, and recordings, as well as children's books and study spaces (and a coffee shop!). The library is open to the public, so you are welcome to come in whenever you're on campus to find materials, get a coffee, or just pass the time in a welcoming space.

As the Music and Performing Arts Librarian (and a UWMSA mom) I am always happy to help you locate materials or answer questions about the library. You can contact me at schmidag@uwm.edu.

Community Borrowing and Access

Persons not affiliated with UWM may borrow books and other items for an annual fee of $50. You can sign up online with any major credit card; via a check paid by mail (see Community Borrowing Application for instructions); or in person at the Golda Meir Library. Privileges include checking out up to 30 items at a time from our General Collections. Non-UWM users can access electronic collections on some computers near the Grind coffee shop on the first floor of the library.
