Sandbox Instructions

Create a practice box following these guidelines:

Create a new box ton this page
- Title it with your first name
- It can be any box type except profile or gallery, apply any formatting that feels right.
- Optional: Format the box as a floating box, add rich text to the box, and create a level 3 heading with your first name.
Add a new a video/media widget from YouTube as a media widget
- Search for a video on YouTube, apply the Creative Commons filter
- Paste the Youtube URL into the Embed Responsively tool* to generate embed code for the video code that automatically adjusts to different screen widths
- Paste the Embed Responsively generated embed code in the Media Widget Box
Add a new link asset
- Check to make sure it doesn't already exist
- Optional: give it an appropriate thumbnail image
Reuse an existing book or link asset OR add a database
- Change the display appearance of the reused asset

*The modified embed code generated using this tool only works for the video URL you pasted. You cannot swap out the URL in the media widget later.

Punk Flyers Digital Collection | Cornell University
The show and event advertising flyers in this digital archive are drawn from two of Cornell’s prominent punk collections: The Johan Kugelberg punk collection, which includes hundreds of fliers, posters, zines, original art and more, and the Aaron Cometbus Punk and Underground Press Collection, which includes punk, new wave, and hardcore flyers and other ephemera from the San Francisco Bay area and beyond.

AGSL Digital Photo Archive – Asia and Middle East AGSL Digital Photo Archive – Asia and Middle East presents over 28,000 images from the holdings of the American Geographical Society (AGS) Library. The selection focuses on the countries of Asia and the Middle East. The images come from the collections acquired over many decades by the AGS Library including an extensive photographic print collection. The digital collection is under continuing development.
JSTOR Historical archives of leading academic journals across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences; UWM's JSTOR collection includes over 120 business, economics and finance journals. Coverage goes as far back as 1800; does not include recent years.

From 1891 onward an ambitious task of mapping all Latin America on the scale of 1:1,000,000 had been thoroughly implemented by the American Geographical Society of New York. The Millionth Map of Hispanic America project spanning over 100 sheets encompasses all land areas of the American continents from the Mexican-United States border to Cape Horn, inclusive of the West Indies. This coverage totals about 8,000,000 square miles, nearly one-sixth of the Earth's land surface (Bowman, 1946, p.319) making it the biggest ever map produced by a private institution. With each sheet being measured 4 degrees of latitude by 6 of longitude, the joined sheets represent a joined together cover an impressive area of about 320 square feet, measuring 34 by 28 feet at its greatest dimensions (Wright, 1952). Countless original surveys, numerous publications, photographs, fieldnotes and articles accompanied the implementation of such an ambitious task. The significance of the collection must be underscored- its use in boundary disputes, aerial navigation (especially during World War II) and the production of thematic maps of Latin America across the globe can definitely be considered as one of the greatest contributions of American geography to the advancement of the discipline in the twentieth century as a whole (Martin, 2015, p.653).

Barnard Zine Library
Barnard's zines reflect the Barnard College student population with regard to gender. We have zines by women, nonbinary people, and trans men, with a collection emphasis on zines by women of color and a newer effort to acquire more zines by trans women. We collect zines on feminism and femme identity by people of all genders. The zines are personal and political publications on a wide range of topics, broadly addressing gender, feminisms, identities, political activism, and popular culture. Frequent topics include, for example, teenage girlhoods, punk cultures, COVID-19, riot grrrl, LGBTQIA experiences, BIPOC identities, travel, comics, physical and mental health, body image, gender nonconformity, discrimination, DIY and crafting, cooking, friendship, and much more. Our zines are at the lower end of the production level scale and typically cost $10 or less, with most of them in the $1-$5 range.
QZAP Queer Zine Archive
QZAP was first launched in November 2003 in an effort to preserve queer zines and make them available to other queers, researchers, historians, punks, and anyone else who has an interest DIY publishing and underground queer communities. QZAP is headquartered in Milwaukee.
