UWM Libraries Strategic Plan 2017-2020: Student Success

Student Success

Support student learning, retention, graduation, and career readiness by providing evidence-based information literacy instruction and educational resources. Mentor graduate students and early-career professionals.

Initiative 1: Information Literacy Instruction

Design a structured and sustainable program of information literacy instruction that scaffolds learning through all points in the student life cycle, from recruitment to career.

Design and implement a instruction program focused on primary source literacy.

Initiative 2: Educational Resources

Remove barriers to student success by providing free, open access textbooks and open educational resources.

Initiative 3: Internships and Residencies

Train the next generation of information professionals through graduate student internships and post-graduate degree residencies.

Initiative 4: Assessment

Correlate student use of library services, resources, and spaces to student outcomes to both understand our current impact and improve our services going forward.

Develop and implement strategies for consistent measurement of student success across AGSL, Archives, and Special Collections.
