UWM Women’s & Gender Studies facilitates research and course development about women and gender-related issues, coordinates the interdisciplinary WGS undergraduate and graduate instructional programs, and works with local, state, and national groups on issues of importance to women. UWM was the first campus in the UW System to initiate a Women’s Studies program in 1974
The UWM LGBTQ+RC strives to create a welcoming campus community by providing social-justice-based education, resources, programming, and support for students across the spectrums of gender and sexuality, with an emphasis on intersectional experiences.
Survivor Support & Victim Advocacy Services provides free, confidential advocacy and support to UWM student victim/survivors of sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence and/or stalking.
The Milwaukee LGBT Community Center delivers educational, health promotion, and community-building services that meet the needs of LGBT youth, adults, and their allies in the Greater Milwaukee area. The Center offers services and resources designed to connect LGBTQIA+ people with emergency food, clothing, housing, survivor advocacy, and health services.
