"Bar-Rag" Magazines
"Bar-rag" format news-magazines that were primarily issued during the late 1970's and early 1980's. These magazines were generally black & white, newsprint quality publications. They typically included a calendar of events, bar specials, listings of local bars and organizations, coverage and a few photos of special shows or sporting events, and might include some brief news articles or original stories.They were distributed for free to bars and other LGBT businesses for patrons to pick up. Funding for their production was raised through advertising.
