Who Bears the Cost?

Open Access Transformative Agreements

Invitation and Welcome

Image for "Who Bears the Cost?" Invitation to a panel discussion about transformative agreements to be held at UWM. Specific details are listed below in text.

The UWM Libraries invite you to a workshop and discussion in which we will examine the emerging models for open access publishing, and their benefits and shortcomings from viewpoints of authors, editors, librarians, and publishers.

This year, UWM Libraries signed “read and publish agreements” with three scholarly publishers: the Association for Computing Machinery, Cambridge University Press, and Company of Biologists. The “read and publish” model allows authors to publish their articles open access without paying processing fees and while still retaining their copyright.

Join us for a workshop with Cambridge University Press to learn more about the “read and publish agreement”, followed by a panel discussion with faculty who will share their experiences publishing open access. See the Libraries' Events page for registration.
