Primary Source Literacy: Home

Multicultural America

Archives Department

This guide will help you become an intelligent user of primary sources.

Welcome, INFOST 210 students.  Unsure about where to start? No worries.  We'll take you step by step through the process of effective primary source research.  Just start with the Identify tab at the top and work your way right.

The Archives Department at UWM Libraries documents the history of UWM and provides access to primary sources, largely from the metropolitan Milwaukee area.  Not in the Milwaukee area?  We love primary sources no matter where they're found, so we can help you find and analyze primary sources from any geographical area.

If you still have questions, think of us as your friendly research coaches.  We're here to help, so send us an email at or shoot us a question on Tumblr.
