Locating Materials At UWM

How do I find a book's call number?

  1. Find the call number in the Search@UW library catalog (it is a series of numbers and letters).
  2. Use the guide to match the first letter of the call number to the correct floor.

Study Carrels

Small study rooms furnished with a desk and chair, called carrels, are offered by the library on a semester-by-semester basis. A limited number of study carrels are available for graduate students on the recommendation of a faculty member. Applications are available at the Main Circulation Desk.

Group Study Rooms

Reserve group study rooms using the DIBS system. Enter the size of your group, when you need the room, and how long you plan on studying, and DIBS returns a list of available rooms.

For more information on Group Study Rooms click here. Walk-ins are allowed, but the library encourages patrons to reserve rooms to avoid conflicts.
