Visiting Students Research Guide: Visiting from local schools?

Milwaukee Area Teachers

If you would like your class to visit for research at the UWM Libraries, you may contact
Tiffany Thornton at thornto4@uwm.edu, or use this form.

Requests are considered as staffing allows. We have two classrooms that may be available (depending upon University instruction). One has 40 computers; the other has 24.To make the most of your time at the Libraries, let us know the goals of the research project and the topics  of students research.

We ask that your students each bring a new or gently used children's book to help us support Milwaukee Succeeds!

What do students need to know?

In order to have a successful experience, students need to know how to reproduce and transmit information. Students should have an email account or flash drive for this.

  To reproduce electronic information:
     • save as PDF and email to themselves
     • save as PDF on a personal flash drive

Visiting on your own

WiFi is available in the Library.

Library Hours reflect school sessions, however non-UWM students must show ID after 7pm and leave the library by 11 pm.

The computers in the Learning Commons Cafe do not require a student ID for access.

Quiet study locations:
Second floor, East wing, near the windows
Lower level, East wing, by compact shelving
