Welcome!

Thank you for using the Milwaukee Neighborhood Guide.  This guide was created for use by UWM Urban Studies students, but hopefully many others will find it useful as well.  The information in this guide is not meant to be authoritative and comprehensive.  It is meant to be a reference and starting point for those researching Milwaukee neighborhoods.  If you find any information that you believe to be incorrect, don't see your neighborhood listed but think it should be, or have any additional information that you think belongs in this guide, please let us know!  You can use the Feedback box that is located on home page of this guide.

Tips

  • Click on the tabs on the top of the guide to navigate through the various pages of this guide
  • Use Firefox for the best results when using this guide
  • If neighborhoods are not being clearly displayed in the "Larger Map" feature, try zooming in and out
  • Census Tract and Block information was obtained by checking a central address for each neighborhood.  Some neighborhoods, especially larger ones, may have muiltiple Tract and Block numbers that are not listed in this guide.
  • Newspaper articles are from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and are provided by LexisNexis.  Only UWM students and faculty will be able to access this feature.
